Now available at both Oak Leaf Manor properties, Friendship Place is a neighborhood inside Oak Leaf Manor that provides specialized care for individuals with memory impairment, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy Body disease, and other forms of dementia as well as memory impairment which occurs unexpectedly as a result of other health complications. Oak Leaf Manor’s philosophy advocates valuing the whole person and affirming each resident as an individual. The home-like, relaxed atmosphere promotes resident participation through spending time with our trained and experienced staff in smaller groups where the emphasis is on support, positive redirection and encouragement.
Our Friendship Place neighborhoods are secured wings, which facilitate resident safety and peace of mind for families, particularly of those who wander or are unable to determine personal safety protocol. Nursing, housekeeping, and activities staff receive specialized training on an ongoing and updated basis incorporating relevant new modalities specifically designed for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Friendship Place offers a daily schedule of activities developed to maintain functioning, encourage independence, and ease confusion while continuing to celebrate accomplishments, both past and present.
For individuals who would benefit from memory support care, but who are not in need of skilled nursing home services, Oak Leaf Manor may be the ideal option. We offer a tremendous value in that our daily rates are about one-half of those in a skilled nursing facility.
