A Day at Oak Leaf Manor

We are proud of our attractive and lushly landscaped communities, but we know it takes more than being well-presented for our residents to call Oak Leaf Manor home. Each day we find new ways to provide that "something" more from specialized care to educational events and fun activities, to interaction with a caring and nurturing staff. A well-rounded Oak Leaf Manor day is a healthy, exciting, fun, independent, and knowledgable day. Who better to describe such a day than one of our residents.

Anna's Oak Leaf day:

6:30am-Rise and shine! Anna chooses her attire for the day while staff deliver fresh towels and make her bed. After she is washed and dressed, Anna heads to the grand Dining Room.

7:30am-Anna eats her "made to order" breakfast in the dining room while chatting with her tablemates about the wonderful weekend away she spent with her daughter's family.

9:00am-"Bend and Stretch" exercise in the sunroom; Anna attends everyday. A great start to energize her full day!

10:00am-Outing to a local shopping center; Anna has her list ready. The trip is convieneint and comfortable on the Oak Leaf Manor passanger bus with ample seats and temperature climate control. Anna selects the items on her list, taking time to browse. She also chooses a new book to add to her collection.

11:30am-Return to Oak Leaf Manor; Anna decides to relax in her private suite and get some reading in before the noon meal.

12:00pm-Anna joins her friends in the dining room for the dinner meal. She enjoys this meal, served restaurant-style, socializing and reminiscing.

1:30pm-Anna is excited about the afternoon's program. She always looks forward to the weekly musical entertainment, but today is extra special. Today is the birthday celebration following entertainment recognizing the Residents who had a birthday this month. Anna is one of today's honorees!

3:30pm-Anna is having a great day! She knows she has more planned so she opts to return to her suite to relax and watch a television show before supper.

5:00pm-Anna is joined by her grand-daughters this evening for supper. She appreciates having the option to invite her family to dine with her. Anna's friends enjoy the added company also!

6:30pm-Anna finds the movie selection for the evening appealing. She invites her grand-daughters to stay and join her. They choose their prefered seat in the theater room, watch the feature and nibble on freshly popped popcorn.

8:30pm-After exchanging "good-byes" with her family, Anna retires to her suite and prepares for bed. As Anna sits back in her recliner, reaching for her new book, she recalls the full day she had and ponders the day ahead. Exercise, bingo, knitting clutch, travel program, and a card party in the evening...a lot to look forward to!

Anna is able to fully enjoy the days she designs with the peace of mind that Oak Leaf Manor is managing the daily household chores of cooking, cleaning, laundry and home maintaince while also managing appointments, medications and other healthcare related issues. Anna is able to focus on doing what she wants; being with friends and family, and planning the next day's adventures.
